review: Been or Gone
Been and gone are both
past participles of the verb go and we use them in the present perfect
tense with the auxiliary verb have or has:
("Been" et "gone" sont tous les deux des participes passé du verbe "go" et on les utilise au "present perfect" avec l'auxiliaire "have or has")
E.g.: She has been…
They have gone…
- Been means to go to a place and
come back. ("Been" signifie aller à un endroit et en revenir)
E.g.: I have been to Tunis twice. (I visited Tunis twice
in the past but I am not in tunis now: J'était à Tunis deux fois au passé mais je n'y suis pas maintenant)
- Gone means to go to a place but
not come back yet. ("Gone" signifie aller à un endroit et y rester)
E.g.: Noura has gone to
school.
(Noura is going to school
or she is at school now. She is not here: Noura est à l'école, elle n'est pas ici)
